Rally? no, not in an open top roadster. Perhaps a 500x, but not the 124 spider.

With a hardtop bolted on and a full roll cage, it’s possible. Maybe not probable, but possible.

Possible yes, but I think the hoops to jump through for the FIA would make it an unappealing process, not to mention its 2wd status and lightweight components.

There isn’t really a class for it to compete in at a global level. I mean, they could probably do Rally America 2WD, but that would be crazy expensive for something with a very low return on investment.

The removable top is certainly an extra complication, but RWD and lightweight components hasn’t stopped Toyota from setting up the GT86 for rally.

Well according to the article there is going to be a new sports car class coming to WRC...

There is currently RGT which currently contains the 997.2 GT3 cup cars converted to rally.
It’s based on using restrictors to achieve a max power to weight ratio.

RGT I what I’d guess they would do which exists in WRC but with only one car, Porsche 997.1 cup. The class is based on using restrictors to level performance.

FIA doesn’t currently allow bolt-on roofs, much like Rally America. Whether Fiat could get them to make an exception or something....

Can’t do Rally America in a convertible

They’d have to make it a permanent hard top, I guess.
